Hello, I’m Alex. I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and co-director of Seven Hills Psychology. I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a registered Practitioner Psychologist with Health and Social Care Professional Council (HCPC). I have a specialist interest in Adult Mental Health and have spent most of my career working in Community Mental Health and Crisis services.
I began my journey in Psychology while studying A levels, where I quickly learned that I wanted to make a career out of the subject. I went on to study a BSc in Psychology with Criminology followed by a MSc in Psychological Research Methods before eventually studying for a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Leicester.
I am passionate about helping people build a holistic understanding of their mental health difficulties, taking into consideration the psychological, biological and environmental influences on a person’s wellbeing. I aim to empower people to learn new ways of understanding their distress and identify coping strategies that help build resiliency, autonomy and self-confidence.
I have trained to conduct Expert Witness assessment work through the BPS and have completed a number of medico-legal enquiries predominantly with people who have experienced mental health difficulties following a significant traumatic event.
